My name is Daniela and I live with my parents in Bogota, Colombia. I have always been an introverted girl. However, as a child, I believed the best thing that could happen to me was for no one to realize I existed; I created a shell full of insecurities. As I grew older, these thoughts remained and I believed I wasn't important enough for anyone to call my name, notice or remember me. I always thought I was an extra in my own life, I wasn't important even to myself.

Full of anxiety and fear I went with my sister to my first Young Life club. There, everyone was concerned about knowing my name. I was shocked to see how genuine and outgoing the leaders were and they wanted to know me. Two years later, at a growth camp I had a profound moment with God. He spoke directly to my heart, revealing my value and importance at just the right time. He filled me with assurance and His love. Now, one of my favorite activities is meeting people and letting them know the love of Jesus. My relationship with Jesus has not only had an impact on me, but also on my parents. Because of what God did in my sister and me, they started going to church with us. Jesus restored their marriage and today He is the center of our family.

Now, being part of the Developing Global Leaders program, I am studying graphic design at Grancolombiano Polytechnic. My goal in leadership is to continue to gain the trust of many girls and be a part of their lives with the intention of leading them to God, just like a leader did with me.
