My name is Laura and I live in CĂștuta, a city in the north of Santander, Colombia. My town is deeply affected by socio-political problems. Despite the challenges, my family has always been a welcoming and supportive refuge for me. My encounter with Jesus came at an early age, thanks to the nurturing environment in which I was raised. Growing up in a home filled with love and spirituality has deeply shaped who I am today.
However, as a teenager my personal relationship with God experienced frustrations, but I found renewal of my faith when I joined Young Life. When my cousin invited me, I experienced firsthand the warm atmosphere and joy among all the people there. The activities, camps, and conversations with the youth and leaders led me to reflect on my relationship with God and to deepen my spiritual commitment. The catalyst for change in my relationship with Jesus was Young Life.
Now a Developing Global Leader, I am a second-year economics and business student at the University of Pamplona. I aspire to complete my university education with academic excellence. My dream is to develop a career in the field of business administration, where I can apply my leadership and management skills to positively impact my work environment, contributing to the economic development of my country. My ideal job after graduating from college is to serve Young Life in human resource management, leveraging my knowledge and passion for leadership growth and support the mission of the ministry.
