Grace

My name is Grace and I live in a small town called Modimolle in South Africa. I was raised by my mom because my dad worked far from home. I did not have a good relationship with my dad and struggled with anger towards him because he left me and my mom as we suffered to provide for ourselves. When we did see him, there was abuse and I felt unable to forgive him for how he treated us. I developed a personal relationship with Jesus after experiencing some trials and difficulties that I knew only Jesus could help me overcome. I was at the lowest point in my life. My walk with Jesus has impacted my life and I cannot manage to spend a day without prayer. As I have grown in my faith, God has helped me forgive my father and I have seen our relationship grow as a result. I first heard about Young Life during a revival in my township when I was invited to club, where I enjoyed and loved everything that was happening there! I just knew I had to be a part of it. Now a Developing Global Leader, I am studying to become a teacher at Unisa University. I love people and can connect with almost anyone, making them feel seen and valued. I hope to use these skills both in the classroom and in my ministry. My vision is to help teenagers, especially teen moms, to trust God and never lose hope. I will be the first in my family to graduate from university.
