Lizbet
My name is Lizbet and I was born in Armenia, but now live in a different country. When war broke out, my family and I moved to a smaller community. I have a very big family that includes three brothers and three sisters; I am the middle daughter. I love and cherish my family very much. Despite the difficulties we went through, we were always together and supported each other, even after my parents' divorce when I was eleven. There were hard times, but God never left us, and I always knew God would always take care of us!
I was born into a Christian family, which means I was familiar with God from childhood. As a child, my mom always read the children's Bible with us and prayed in the evenings. When my older brother graduated from high school, he entered college and started going to church. It was through him that I learned about my church and Young Life ministry. The first time I went to Young Life camp was in 2018 after graduating from high school. I was very inspired by the people around me, the Young Life leaders were so caring, and I was overwhelmed by the way God was changing teens lives. I knew I had found my calling as a Young Life leader.
Currently a Developing Global Leader, I'm studying at a music college where I sing and play the piano. I really like what I do and want to further develop and grow my music career and advance in my education. Music is something that attracts every teenager, and I am able to find common interests and approach them easily to build on our shared love for music. I am also compelled to help my brothers and sisters in the church discover their God-given musical abilities and grow together through worship, hopeful to glorify God in everything I do.
