Bridget
My name is Bridget and I am from Nigeria. I go by Bridgy. I am the second of ten children and grew up in a meager home. As is common, I was married at a young age, however it took over eight years to have a child. There was much pressure for my husband to choose another wife due to my infertility. God was faithful to provide a child, but we have experienced continued adversity since my husband lost his job in 2020 and we struggle daily to provide for our family.
I met Jesus during my first term in secondary school. The more I hear the Word of God the more I keep changing for the better. I later got involved with Young Life through a friend. I am a committed leader, always finding ways to connect to teenagers, even as I look for work and take care of my home. Young Life has helped to give me hope and a purpose during difficult times.
I have a strong natural ability to counsel others, but my long-time dream has been to be a teacher. As a Developing Global Leader, I will study education at Lagos State University while continuing to lead teenagers. I hope to improve my skills with students and learn how to better communicate my faith.
