Kgalalelo

Kgalalelo, who likes to be called Kgaliey, is a strong-hearted young woman from Dikebu, a small village north of Johannesburg, South Africa. She reflects on her childhood fondly and shares that home was “a place where love and happiness were found in the midst of her large family.” The support of her family became instrumental in her life when she became a teenage mom. They helped her overcome the challenge of balancing school and motherhood and encouraged her to continue to focus on her goals and life plans. Kgaliey became a Christian during high school. Her faith was strengthened through her involvement in Young Life where she learned more about God’s love for her and the person of Jesus. This was a huge catalyst for change in her life as she learned to rely more on Jesus and allowed Him to be her guide in life. She found great joy in leading teens and continues to walk with them as their Young Life leader. Now a Developing Global Leader, Kgaliey is studying business at the University of Johannesburg. She shares about her education goals, “My vision for my education is to earn my degree and eventually have my own businesses. I am grateful for the leadership opportunities I’ve been given and hope to see other kids get the same opportunity to succeed in life.” Kgaliey will be the first in her family to graduate from university.
