Faith
My name is Faith and I live in Lagos, Nigeria, one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the world. My family has endured great adversity and poverty; however, my greatest struggle was not knowing my biological father’s identity and feeling rejected by him. The oldest of six children, I grew up keeping to myself, and struggled with self-esteem. A friend invited me to their local church where I heard the word of God in a unique way. I desperately needed love. This struggle humbled me and caused me to rely on my heavenly Father in total dependence. God ‘s love has changed my life. As a team leader, I can walk alongside teenagers with compassion and empathy, pointing always to the Father’s love. With the help of the Developing Global Leader’s scholarship, I am eager to continue my schooling as an international relations major at Southwestern University. I want to work in an Embassy and be the first in my family to graduate from college.
