Sharbel

My name is Sharbel and I grew up in Nazareth, Israel. I had to take responsibility for myself at a really young age because I lived a big part of my childhood without my father. This challenge came with both pros and cons; it taught me to be responsible from a young age, but I also ached not to have my father by my side. I cultivated bitterness and hate in my heart towards the people that falsely accused my father. Jesus has healed me and put forgiveness and love in my heart towards those people.

I met Jesus when I was fourteen years old. I was far away from faith and got into big trouble in school. I was about to be kicked-out after being blamed for something I had not done. I was depressed and had no hope when one of my leaders at youth group noticed me and he told me about the love of Jesus. Since I have become a true follower of Jesus, God has worked on me and is making me into a better version of myself. He guides me and gives me wisdom to do what He has called me to do.

Now a Developing Global Leader, I am studying business and economics at Colman College. I would love to work as an investment banker and be involved in Young Life. I hope to start Young Life College in Tel-Aviv and use my finance degree to the benefit of the ministry of Young Life.
