Mischa

My name is Mischa, although my name has been changed for security reasons. I was born in a small city in central Asia where I lived with my parents and siblings. I grew up in a Christian family, where my father is a pastor. I consciously decided to follow Jesus. In our country, being a Christian is dangerous, it can lead to imprisonment, but my parents have been faithfully serving in the church as long as I can remember.

From a young age, I had a dream to serve disabled children. I imagined how we could spend time, how I could help them, how we could communicate. One day I met the leader of the Young Life Capernaum ministry, I was fascinated by her story. I immediately wanted to join this mission; it was a wonderful plan of God. I'm now a leader of the Young Life Capernaum team in the city where I study. I'm responsible for opening and developing this ministry there. We started the ministry here recently, but I already see the difference in this city.

Now, as a DGL student, I am studying business and marketing management and hope to become a successful businesswoman. My dream is to improve the education system of my motherland, hoping youth will have a lot of opportunities to grow and be qualified workers in their spheres. Also, I have a dream to open our own office of development for special kids, giving them opportunities to grow: to read, write, sing, play instruments, learn languages, etc. I desire not only to be friends but to make them independent and able to use their gifts.
