Erik

My name is Erik and I live in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, with my parents and two sisters. In my opinion, there are three things that have shaped me into who I am today. The first thing is the warmth of my family and our good relations. The second is my friends and surroundings. And the third is my experience of serving in the army and the war that is currently going on in our country.

From early childhood, my mother told me that God exists and loves us. When I was a teenager, my family started attending church. Also, during this time I met a Young Life leader whose attitude and love for me turned my world upside down and pointed me to the person of Christ. Later, I went to camp, and I met Jesus; I asked Him for forgiveness and accepted Him into my life. I began to build a relationship with Jesus and actively participate in the ministry, it changed my life radically. I have realized that it is my mission to reach kids and now I want to grow in it.

Now, as a Developing Global Leader, I am studying information technology at the European University of Armenia. I plan to not stop there and already aim to earn an even higher degree after these years of study. I have strengths in leading people and a burning heart for kids and youth. I hope to use these gifts in the kingdom of God. In Young Life, I serve as a leader and have a goal to develop a new team in our city. I love the culture of the ministry; it has had a great impact on my life and continues to help shape my personality today.
