Elisha lives in a small town on the coast of Ghana with his parents and siblings. When he was young, he saw his parents go through many problems and struggle relentlessly with financial hardship. They often fell short in paying Elisha’s school fees and educational materials. However, these trials built resilience and a determined spirit within Elisha and became the foundation of his trust in God.
Elisha’s faith story is rooted in his Christian upbringing with his parents. He became involved in Young Life in high school and began to experience God as his “helper and strong refuge,” as he weathered the trials of completing high school. Now, a leader in his community where teens rarely complete school, Elisha is compelled to tell his story of struggle and perseverance and be an encouragement to others and a testimony to God’s faithfulness.
Elisha, a participant in the Developing Global Leaders program, is studying education at University of Education, Winneba. He hopes to become a professional teacher and inspire kids to apply themselves through hard work to build a better future for themselves and their community. Elisha is committed to making known the love of God in every arena of his life whether in his role at church, while teaching in the classroom, through broadcasting at the local radio station, or as he walks through life with teens as a Young Life leader in his community.
