Anna

My name is Anna and I am from a small village called Moneyreagh, near Belfast in the United Kingdom, where everybody knows everybody. I had a great childhood, with six of us in the house! We grew up with lots of different pets, my favorite being my chickens. I grew up surrounded by God, through my family, my friends, my school and my Church.

I always knew who God was, but it wasn’t until I was eleven that I took God more seriously. I wasn’t just reading my Bible for the sweets in Sunday school anymore, I was doing it because it helped me growth in faith with God. That same year I started going to Young Life club. When my mum was ill, I swerved away from God, not really wanting anything to do with Him, as I blamed Him for my mum's cancer. I watched her grow in her faith while I always questioned God , "Why?" After she was better, I spoke to my Young Life leaders about it. With their help, I was able to repair my relationship with God bit by bit. I know that He was with me throughout, even when I did not feel I wanted Him there. Since that time, I have been on a journey with God, and have not let go of His hand.

As a Developing Global Leader, I am studying theology at Belfast Bible College. Personally, I would love to travel on mission trips and possibly become a medical assistant in different countries across the globe. I love being a Young Life leader and hope to continue leading and loving teens long after the DGL program ends.
