Mamawo

My name is Mamawo and I grew up with my grandfather and my parents. Since the loss of my grandfather, who was the breadwinner of the home, things became so hard for my parents that they struggled to even pay my school fees or take care of school issues. It has been a tough time for my family, but I thank God for His blessings and protection over us.

I met Jesus through church when I was only six years old, but I really began to depend on and follow the ways of Christ Jesus was when I joined Young Life. My relationship with Jesus Christ has become very strong thanks to the teaching and the opportunity to lead teens in my community.

As a Developing Global Leader, my future goal is to become a state registered nurse. My hope is that after graduating with my nursing degree from Njala University, I will be able to help save others' lives and share the Gospel with them as I treat their illnesses. This job will serve as a tool to share Jesus Christ by serving people’s needs. I am passionate about raising up leaders for the Young Life club in my community. I will be the first person in my family to graduate from university.
