Corneil

Corneil is a dynamic young man from the capital city Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire. He remembers a loving childhood filled with memories of his time with his four brothers and four sisters who all lived together with their parents. His greatest challenge was to overcome the death of his brother, who passed away one week before his high school exams. He was shocked and grief stricken and lost confidence in himself in the face of the important examinations. He overcame by trusting God to carry him through.

Corneil attributes his faith to his Roman Catholic upbringing and has felt connected to God since he was a boy. Through Young Life, he became more confident and his faith has strengthened, grateful for the countless ways God has changed his life. As a team leader, he uses his natural gifts of kindness and being a good listener to build relationships with teens in his neighborhood.

With the help of the Developing Global Leaders scholarship, Corneil is studying economic sciences at a local university. He wants to complete his bachelor program and find a job to help his family. As a DGL, he wants to start a club at his university and share Jesus with his classmates, giving glory to God in everything he does.
