Abigail

My name is Abigail and I live in Barcelona, Spain, with my parents and older brother. I was born in Argentina and when I was two years old, we moved to Spain to improve our economic and social situation. As a child, together with my parents who were pastors of various churches, we moved many times and often lived in the same churches where my parents were pastors. Due to these continual changes, I was a very shy child and not confident enough to be myself.

Born into a Christian family, I have gone to church all my life and have grown up with God. At the age of nine, I decided in a conscious and personal way to follow Christ, only to have to change churches shortly after. At first, I didn't want to change, because it was very difficult for me to meet new people. However, it was at the new church where I learned about Young Life and the opportunity to go to summer camp. After camp, I started going to Young Life and also began to feel a part of the church and more confident being myself. I became a leader because I desire to make everyone, especially young people, feel comfortable being themselves and part of a group.

Now as a Developing Global Leader, I am studying literature at the University of Barcelona (UB). In the future, I would like to work in a publishing house, as an editor, because I love reading and writing. I also plan to continue serving God, both in the church and in Young Life. Ultimately, I would like to be where God wants me to be and serve where he wants me to serve, leading people into a relationship with God.
