Kieran

Kieran is a dedicated and communicative young woman from Central Asia. She is a middle child with four siblings, and remembers her childhood as joyful, despite financial difficulties. Originally from a Muslim family, she always felt God’s presence in her life, but not the Muslim God of her heritage; she felt there had to be someone else, though she knew nothing of Jesus.

Kieran began to wonder about faith and found out that the Christian God forgives sins and offers eternal life. From that point forward, she wanted to know more and decided that when she grew up, she would become a Christian. Kieran became acquainted with Young Life as a teenager. As she became involved, she saw changes in herself, becoming more open and watching her shyness all but disappear. She was so overcome by Jesus that she accepted Him as her Savior and dedicated her life to Him. This moment radically changed her life, and she became the first in her family to go to church. It was a great blessing to share the news with her family; they accepted her choice, and she did not feel pressured, but supported. She now serves as a leader, reaching out to teenagers, leading Bible groups and helping in the Capernaum ministry.

Kieran has always had an aptitude to learn languages and a desire to communicate with different people, which is even more compelling now as she uses her gifts in her ministry. With the Developing Global Leaders scholarship, she is pursuing a degree in linguistics. Kierian knows higher education is an important factor in her personal development and desires to be an integral part of the growth of the Young Life ministry in her city.
