Xhesjana

Originally from Tirana, Xhesjana is a dental student at the Faculty of Medicine in the capital city of Albania. Growing up with her parents and two brothers, Xhesjana had a beautiful childhood until her close friend died from leukemia. "She died of leukemia because when she discovered the disease she had advanced too much and it was impossible to cure. Losing her was the most difficult challenge I have gone through and it took me a while to get back to normal. She was a very important person to me, not just a person who spent time, but I grew up with her since I was little. She was more than a friend; she was like a sister to me."

Since a very early age, she has gone to church, "As far as I remember, I started going to church when I was ten years old. I went every Sunday and I started to like it as I was having a very nice time. That was the first time I heard about Jesus." However, it wasn’t until her first Young Life camp when she fully accepted Christ and a relationship with Him. "My personal relationship with Jesus has always been there, but the moment I fully accepted it and said I AM A CHRISTIAN was while I was at camp. This was one of the most beautiful and special moments of my life."

Now, as a Developing Global Leader, Xhesjana hopes that after her studies she can become a dentist and have her own clinic in the future. "The vision for my future is to love well the people in my life and above all walk with God. My desire is to work as a dentist and open a clinic. Through a lot of hard work, I want to be the person who gives people a beautiful smile.” I will be the first in my family to graduate from university.
