Hania

My name is Hanna. I live in an apartment in Warsaw, Poland, with my parents and two younger siblings. I grew up in a small Polish village with my grandmother and mother while my father was away serving in the military. When I was twelve, we moved to Warsaw and started to live with our father, which changed the dynamic of the relationships within our family. This experience was challenging to face new insecurities because the people there were wealthy and led lifestyles that my family could not afford. During that time, I used my experiences to create a theatrical play about different kinds of loneliness, which directed me into the artistic path that I would like to follow in my future.

I grew up in a Catholic family and my faith was very much connected to my family and not necessarily my own. I became involved in Young Life in middle school; at camp, I realized how important it is to have God on the pedestal in the center of my life because He fills all of the empty places. Even through doubt, difficult experiences and depression, He has called me to continue to find my trust in Him.

As a recipient of the Developing Global Leaders scholarship, I am studying social science and philosophy at the University of Warsaw. I hope that studying philosophy will help me deepen my faith and better understand people, resulting in inspiration to create and write more motivational stories with an eternal message. I am interested in screenwriting and film direction and want to find a space to develop myself there. I would like to start Young Life Capernaum in Warsaw and continue creative projects with kids in my ministry.
