Reason

My name is Reason Moyo and I am from Gweru, a city in southern Zimbabwe. I live with my mother, three nephews and a younger brother. My father passed away when I was in second grade. From that time on it was not easy for us to eat because my father was the only one who worked; we sometimes spent nights with empty stomachs. My mother sold vegetables in order to provide food and pay our school fees. We couldn't afford school and I ended up dropping out due to lack of funds for the fees. We saved our money and I eventually went back and finished my ordinary level as well as my advanced level. My wish is to change my family’s financial situation, take care of my mom and make her proud.

I met Jesus Christ in 2010 when my auntie invited her pastor to my homestead and I attended the service. I heard good news and made a decision to go with Christ. Later, I met a young lady who told me about Young Life and helped me to join the ministry. I have been a leader for six years and am a team leader in my neighborhood. I am able to share the Word of God with people around me almost every day and I love to help young people with life issues.

Now a Developing Global Leader, I want to continue serving the Lord by introducing young people to Christ and giving them knowledge about how to build a good relationship with Him. I am attending Midlands State University and working to obtain a degree in multimedia production. I hope to get a job and change my family financially. I will be the first in my family to graduate from university.
