Prudence

My name is Prudence, but I prefer to go by Miley. I am from the coastal city of Monrovia in Liberia and live with two brothers, two sisters, my mother, and stepfather. My biological father left our family when I was a baby; I have not seen him since. My childhood was simple but full of love from my family, including my stepfather. One of my favorite memories is when a large humanitarian aid ship came to my city; my family and I had the opportunity to explore the ship and left with books, clothes, and food.

Faith in God has always been a part of my family life, but I did not form a relationship with Christ until early high school. I began attending Young Life after being invited by a friend, and slowly learned more and more about God. One summer I went to Young Life camp and was given quiet time alone with the Lord. During this time, I gave my life to Him. Now, a Young Life leader in my community, I am honored to walk faithfully alongside teens in my community.

As a Developing Global Leader, I am attending the African Methodist Episcopal University in Liberia. I am studying business and accounting with the hopes of becoming one of the best accountants in Liberia. I value this opportunity to focus wholeheartedly on my studies, grow in my faith, and further develop my leadership skills through leading my Young Life team.
