Abdoulaye

My name is Abdoulaye (name changed for safety) and I was raised in a rural commune in Mali. Born into a large Christian family, of which I am the eldest of ten children. I heard often of the power and love of God. However, outside of my home, I was shy and afraid to express myself in front of a crowd or among people I did not know. Through the activities and encouragement of my Young Life community, my shyness and anxiety no longer exist. I have allowed God to take control of my life through obedience and submission to His will and now love talking about Jesus Christ to other people, always trying to show those around me that Christ is in my life. Now a Developing Global Leader, I am studying business management in order to learn how to develop leaders, oversee budgets, and resolve conflicts in the workplace. I am proud to be the first in my family to graduate from college. Ultimately, I want to showcase my leadership skills in a way that will allow me to be an example in my community and ultimately, participate in decision making in my country.
