Veronica

My name is Veronica; my friends call me Vero and I am from Arusha, Tanzania. My younger brother and I live with our mother after suffering the loss of our father when I was seventeen. He passed away during my final exams of my final year in secondary school. It was the hardest time in my life, and I wrestled greatly knowing that I would live the rest of my life without him.

My late father was a pastor and I was shaped by growing up in a loving Christian home. In my early teenage years, I lost my way due to the negative influence of a group of friends, but I got tired of living a sinful life. During that time, I met Irene, my Young Life leader, who invited me to club. I gave my life to Jesus at camp, and now because of Him, I live life full of hope and love in spite of the challenges I have faced. For that reason, I love to introduce others to Jesus, especially teens, who face are facing adversity and heartache.

Now, a Developing Global Leader, I am attending the Junior Institute of Information Technology and studying electronics and telecom engineering. Interested in electronics from a young age, I hope to become an expert in my field in order to help provide for my family and become first person to graduate from university. I am committed to leading in my community and hope to grow in leadership and ministry skills in order to develop new leaders and reach more kids with the good news of the Gospel.
