Minnie

My name is Minenhle. l live with my mother and grandmother in Dula village in Matopo, Zimbabwe. As the youngest of four children, I fittingly acquired the nickname, Minnie. When l was young, l was a very clever and smart girl and experienced a lot of success in school. My greatest challenge was having the money for fees and books for primary school. l was humbled by the way community leaders took a vested interest in me and sought help from local donors and well-wishers on my behalf.

When l was young, l would go to church with my family; I remember enjoying the games we played, memorizing verses, and singing. When I started going to Young Life, I found a lot of joy and peace as I grew in my relationship with Jesus. My personality and character were highly shaped by my leaders and I cultivated a vision for introducing others to Christ and helping them grow spiritually.

Now a Developing Global Leader, I am attending Midlands State University and will be the first in my family to graduate from university. I am studying business management because I want to eventually open and run my own business. I continue to hone my leadership skills and invest in future generations of leaders.
