Alexandra

My name is Alexandra and I am from Romania. Throughout my childhood, I lived in a very small village called Baia de Arieș, with my parents and two younger sisters. When I was little, I remember being a very happy child and I especially enjoyed the simplicity of playing outside with my friends. As the older sister, I often had to take care of my younger sisters. When I was fourteen, my parents divorced and this event turned me into a much more mature and responsible teenager than would have been necessary. It was a difficult time, but God was present and helped me move through the challenges.

Church was always a place where I felt safe and found peace. My mother and grandmother taught me to pray and our prayers together greatly shaped my relationship with Jesus. I was introduced to Young Life through a group activity; I loved the ministry and jumped in head first. Today, I continue to follow Jesus, wanting to do His will. I try to love others and put God first in everything I do and I am grateful to God for everything I have.

I chose to study law as a pathway to fulfilling my dream of attending the Police Academy. Unfortunately, because of some medical problems, I did not enter the Police Academy, however I did not give up on college. The faculty of law offers many career options and legal professions are among the most sought after. I have decided to continue with a master's degree in criminal sciences and criminology, and after graduation I would like to work in the penitentiary system. I will be the first in my family to graduate from university.
