I'm from a non-Christian household and I have lived in Tayport, Scotland my entire childhood. One of the challenges I faced I in my childhood was dealing with my dyslexia and trying to find ways to cope with it. I was lucky to grow up in a family that supports my decisions in everything I do, including my faith.
The first time I really heard about God or even Jesus was at a Young Life camp in 2017. On the night they talked about sin, I started to realize that all the leaders around me were different. During the 20 minutes of silence I realized that it was their love for God. Afterwards, I spoke to Clay, my Young Life leader, and we prayed together. It was a slow start. I was reading the bible but not going to church, however by Christmas I was attending church every week and engaging more and more in growing in my faith.
My hope for my future is that I can keep doing God's work with my degree in Theology, Mission and Ministry from Reign Ministries and pursue a job in youth work.
