Ewan

My name is Ewan. For my entire life I have grown up in the seaside town of Bangor, Northern Ireland, which is thirty minutes from the capital, Belfast. I live with my mum, dad, and younger brother. My mum is a doctor, and my dad is the minister of a local church in Bangor. Throughout my childhood and teenage years, I have enjoyed hobbies such as playing sports, watching movies and TV and playing musical instruments.

I have grown up in a Christian home and have been aware of Jesus from a young age. When I was seven years old I prayed in my room and asked Jesus into my life. Since then I have been heavily involved in my church family and have had many opportunities to serve and develop my faith. When I was twelve years old, a Young Life group was set up in my church and I attended regularly as a young person until I became a volunteer leader when I was sixteen.

I have just completed secondary school and will begin studying primary education at Stranmillis University College to pursue a career as a primary school teacher. As a Developing Global Leader with Young Life, I hope to gain a wealth of experience and opportunities to lead groups of young people both at club, camp, and other activities. I am looking forward to working as part of a team with the Young Life staff and volunteers and through this grow in my faith and learn key skills which will help me in my future career.
