Shara

My name is Shara. I am the eldest of four children and grew up with my parents in a small town in Central Asia. My family endured persecution for our faith, and we often lived in fear; however, my father had such immoveable faith which carried us through every obstacle. As a result, financial hardship caused our family to have to separate, some of us in the city for work and school, while my mother and younger siblings remain in the village. My dad is an assistant pastor and my brother and I serve with the youth.

Now a Developing Global Leader, I work with students with special needs through Young Life Capernaum. When I saw these special children, my heart ached and I wanted to help them, teach them, and most importantly, become their friend. I am attending the university and studying law. After enduring a lifetime of persecution, I am committed to serving the marginalized and forgotten people of my society and want to be a voice of hope and justice in my country.
