Michelle

I am Michelle, but I go by Shee, from Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. My sisters and I were raised by my mother, who separated from my father when I was a baby due to his alcoholism. While I was growing up it was hard for my mother to be the sole provider for my family, and I began looking to my eldest sister as a second mother. She often attended my school meetings and made sure I had everything set up for me to successfully enroll in school.

My sister began attending Young Life, and once I was in high school, I began to do the same. My Young Life leaders shared the Good News with me, and my life was forever changed by the Gospel. I loved getting to have fun at Young Life, as well as have a supportive community where I could talk about the hard aspects of my life. I gave my life to Christ after experiencing His love for me, and have seen myself become a happier person through living my life in Christ.

As a Developing Global Leader, I will attend Zetech University and be the first in my family to attend university. Utilizing my relational skills and ease of connecting with people, I plan to go into the hospitality industry and work in a hotel. Above all else, I want to continue pursuing teens through Young Life, walking with them and connecting them with their loving Heavenly Father.
