Gwen

Hey! My name is Gwenael but everyone calls me Gwen. I live in a house near Brussels in Belgium with my parents and my three younger sisters. I would say that I had a happy childhood. I’m close to my sisters and I appreciate every little moment I spend with them. Also, my parents have always had a great impact on my journey to a relationship with God. They put me in a lot of camps because they themselves have been camp directors and know the impact that these camps can have on the lives of teenagers. Camp has helped me grow into the person I am now. Even though I grew up going to church and hearing about God's love, it was not always easy because part of my family is Muslim and they often tried to make me doubt my faith. It wasn't until I went to Young Life camp in 2014 that I realized the importance of making my own choice about my faith. As a Young Life leader, I invite teens to Young Life so that they can have long lasting friendships, but more importantly, so they can hear the word of God.

I have always been interested in economics and mathematics. As a Developing Global Leader, I’m studying economics and management at Université Libre de Bruxelles. I don’t know for sure what my future career is going to be, but I hope that what I learn will help me with my leadership both at work and in Young Life, and that I will be able to serve others as Jesus did.
