Nikolay

I go by Kolya and I was raised in a small town in Russia. I am the middle of four brothers and the son of a pastor. Being raised in a Christian home influenced every part of my childhood and laid a foundation for much of who I am today. During my early teenage years, someone moved to my small community and started Young Life. Building on what I had learned from growing up in church, my faith skyrocketed when I served on work crew at camp. This camp experience completely transformed my understanding of God, ministry, and myself. From that day on, I sought out opportunities to grow in leadership and now look back at how the Lord has prepared me to begin a new Young Life ministry in the city where I am attending university.

As a Developing Global Leader, I am attending university and plan to be a math teacher. I love math and want to change students' perceptions of the subject by engaging them in interesting and creative ways. Ultimately, I want to share my life and my faith with teenagers in order to introduce them to the life-changing love of God.
