Bismark

My name is Bismark Nyoni and I go by “Bizzet.” I was born and raised in the industrial city of Bulawayo the second largest city in Zimbabwe.  I am the first born in my family of six, having three siblings and both my parents. I stay with my family in Cowdray Park, a neighborhood in the outskirts of the city. I grew up in a God-fearing family where I knew Christ but did not have a personal relationship with Him. I was invited to Young Life club by my leader in 2012 at my high school. A few years later, I attended camp where I received Christ and began a Bible study with a group of other boys who had become my friends too. My spiritual life has been growing ever since, and I know that I have family and friends in Young Life. 

Recently I became very ill and was on my deathbed. I could not speak or wake up on my own. It is the biggest challenge I have ever faced. God saved my life; time after time, in tense situations, He shows Himself as protector, provider and guide.

With this opportunity as a Developing Global Leader I want to pursue my dream to be a civil engineer and create employment in my community. I am a student at Bulawayo Polytechnic. Currently, I am serving as the team leader in my area where I am learning how to cultivate and develop leaders in my club. I am now a focused young man who has zeal to transform my community, especially teenagers, because of what the Lord has accomplished for me through Young Life. I am the first in my family to attend university.
