Jane

I live in Kigali, Rwanda and I am the second born of four. Since the death of my father when I was five, my mother has struggled to provide for us by selling the produce we grow. The perseverance and resilience I have seen in my mother over the years inspires me to study and work and do all I can for the good of those around me. I grew up attending church with my family, but during Young Life camp I made the decision to follow Him forever. In addition to the opportunity to grow in my faith, Young Life has set the stage for my creative and outgoing personality to come alive and I have had the pleasure of serving on the program team to bring joy and laughter to all kinds of kids. I love to break down barriers and help make kids smile and feel seen.

Now a Developing Global Leader, I attend the University of Tourism and Technology and am earning a business management degree specializing in finance. My dream is to work hard and be able to change my family's standard of living. I hope to own my own business and offer employment and help to people in my community. I will be the first person in my family to graduate from university.
