Hawa

My name is Hawa (changed for safety reasosn) and I was born into a Christian family. My father was an entrepreneur and my mother a housewife. However, I lost my father when I was six years old which altered the course of my family’s life forever. After his death, the family plunged into difficulties. Given the economic difficulties and financial burdens, my five brothers were forced to live elsewhere and I was alone with my mom. My mother raised me in the church and taught me the Word of God. I have continued to grow in my faith through involvement in church and Young Life.

As a Developing Global Leader, I hope to improve my ministry and leadership skills while attending university. I am pursuing a degree in logistics and transportation and will be qualified to coordinate the logistics and transport activities of both national and international organizations. I want to contribute to the expansion of the Young Life ministry in Mali and give my time and my goods to sharing the gospel with teenagers. I am the first in my family to attend college.
