Marlene

Marlene is a responsible and creative young woman from Corrientes, Argentina. She and her three siblings were born into a Christian family filled with love. Marlene remembers a beautiful childhood full of Sunday lunches with extended family. Marlene is thankful for the ways her parents loved God, were committed to kingdom work and their family, and led her into relationship with Jesus. She was also deeply influenced by her grandparents and their great love for God and unconditional love for others. Marlene became involved in Young Life through work crew at a camp. This experience gave her a heart for the ministry and she has been involved as a leader ever since. Upon moving far away from home for college, Marlene quickly became involved in local Young Life ministry and has found family away from home for support. Living independent from her family and far away is a grief to Marlene, yet it has been an instrumental vehicle for growth in her faith and personal maturity.

Now a Developing Global Leader, Marlene is attending the Higher Institute of Social Services and pursuing a degree in social work. A natural leader, Marlene has a heart for the under-resourced children in her community and wants to help meet their needs. She shares, “I feel a great commitment to the teenagers of my city. I dream of seeing them become adults full of values and principles and I am humbled at the idea of being part of their training.”
