Amrito

Amrito is a hard-working and teachable young man from a humble village in Bangladesh. He was raised with a Christian background and lives with his parents, two siblings, and his grandparents. They are supported by his father’s small business of selling goats and crops. Though his family has never had much financially, his childhood was a happy time. Greatly influenced by his cousin, Amrito was introduced to the love of Jesus and grew tremendously at a six-month discipleship school with YWAM. During that time, Amrito truly grasped the love of Jesus and caught his first glimpse of youth ministry. Now, as a Young Life leader, Amrito sees how Young Life lines up with his own desire of serving God’s Kingdom and his goals to reach kids in his community who have never heard about the love of Jesus.

Now a Developing Global Leader, Amrito is pursuing a degree in social science in university and learning about social issues and community development. Hoping to go into full-time youth ministry upon graduation, Amrito is growing in confidence and patience through leadership training and mentorship. Amrito shares that he “sees so many youth walking in darkness and wants to bring them into the light.” His heart for the kids in his community is a true reflection of the transforming love of Jesus. Amrito will be the first person in his family to graduate from college.
