Sibonokuhle

Sibonokuhle is a hard-working young woman with tested leadership skills from a small area outside of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. After the death of her parents, she now lives with her uncle, grandmother, and other relatives. The memories of her childhood are filled with peace and harmony in spite of their financial hardships. Her greatest challenge in life has been losing her parents, which forced her to take responsibility for herself, especially in regards to her studies. She was the head girl in her high school and used that opportunity to take the lead in creating initiatives that would build good moral character for her fellow students.

Sibonokuhle grew up attending church and accepted Jesus as her Savior as she learned about his love. Getting involved in Young Life, she continued to grow and worship him with her life, clinging to his loving-kindness and forgiveness. As a Young Life leader, Sibonokuhle wants nothing more than to share God’s love with the teenagers in her community.

Now a Developing Global Leader, Sibonokuhle is building on her scholastic gifts and internal drive as she attends the Catholic University of Zimbabwe. She is pursuing an honors degree in business management and information technology with the hopes of owning her own business and being equipped with the necessary skills to thrive and be a resource to others. Sibonokuhle wants to see young people learn to persevere and value education – and she will support and encourage them when they feel like giving up on their goals.
