Gjorgi is a hardworking and passionate young man from a small village near Strumica, North Macedonia, currently living in the capital city of Skopje. Growing up in an orthodox country, he remembers being surrounded by family as a child, including his grandfather, who played a big role in his early years, cultivating in Gjorgi an interest in his community, current events, and politics.
Gjorgi heard about Jesus for the first time at Young Life camp when he was a young teenager. His faith deepened in his time studying abroad in America with Amicus; however, upon his return, he felt alone and without fellowship to encourage him in his faith. An opportunity to serve on Work Crew at a Young Life leadership conference provided a platform for Gjorgi to reconnect with the Lord and hear again that “he is the Lord’s favorite” and unconditionally loved. This intimate reminder compelled Gjorgi to commit his life to pursuing Jesus and sharing the Gospel with teenagers, first as a Young Life leader and then as a DGL student in Skopje.
Now as a Developing Global Leaders Administrator for Europe, Gjorgi has answered God's call to serve with Young Life on a full-time basis, as well as still volunteer as a local leader in his city. In his words, "Giving up on politics wasn't an easy decision but I felt God is calling me into this ministry so He can use me through Young Life to reach out to the next Gjorgi who has no idea who God is and how much He loves him."
