David

David is a faithful and persevering young man from Rio Negro, Ecuador. His early memories of his childhood are filled with time with his siblings and parents, together as a family. However, when he left home to go to boarding school and play soccer in another city, he was forced to navigate the challenges of being independent and away from home at a young age, as well as the difficulties of being separated from his family. His faith grew tremendously during this time, compelling him to rely on God fully as his parents walked through a divorce. David now lives with his mother and brother and it brings him great joy to be with them, having found peace regarding his parent’s separation. David, now a Young Life leader, was introduced to Young Life and has grown passionate in his ministry with teenagers.

As a Developing Global Leader, David is combining his love for sports and fitness with his desire to help people as he pursues a degree in physical education and sports at the Technical University of Ambato. He hopes to be a physical trainer and also continue to invest in the lives of teenagers as a Young Life leader. As a DGL student, David is committed to excelling in his studies, as well as continuing to raise up leaders in his community as they share the love of Jesus with teenagers.
