Rozan

Rozan is a young woman living in Cana, Israel, a small village near Nazareth. Rozan lives with her parents and five siblings. Her father was a carpenter until he became a pastor for a local Christian church; her mother manages their household. A big part of Rozan’s life was being a part of her father’s church. She attended an after school program at the church when she was young and later helped her father run children’s camps.

Rozan became involved in Young Life when a friend introduced her to local staff. Rozan has been volunteering with Young Life since 2017, and leads a weekly Campaigners small group for high school girls. She took a group of girls to camp, and has been mentoring them ever since.

Now through the Developing Global Leaders program, Rozan is attending Ort Braude College where she is studying biotechnology engineering. After graduation, she hopes to work in a medical lab or go to medical school to become a doctor. Rozan’s dream for her country is to be able to live in peace. She says, “I hope I can be a part in helping others realize that only through love can we have peace.” She speaks Arabic, Hebrew, and English and will be the first in her family to attend college.
