Romario

Romario is from a small Israeli village called Ibillin, which is comprised of both Arab Christians and Muslims. He grew up in a warm and loving home with his parents and two brothers. His childhood was marked by their support and the many adventures spent with his twin brother.

An invitation to Young Life club as a high school student in 2014 set the stage for him to hear about the love of Jesus and to commit his life to seeking Him. This adventure has led Romario to step out of his comfort zone of shyness and has compelled him to invest in teenagers as a Young Life leader and share the love of Jesus with them.

Through the Developing Global Leaders program, Romario is pursuing a nursing degree at Tel Aviv University while continuing to serve as an excellent Young Life leader in his club. Described as an excellent, proactive leader with a servant attitude, Romario says, “My dream for my country is to be able to live beyond the conflict and to learn to live in peace with everyone. I want to be a leader in making these things happen this way.” He speaks Arabic, Hebrew, and English and will be the first person in his family to graduate from university.
