Ayon

Ayon is a friendly young man from a large city in Bangladesh. Born to hardworking parents, Ayon and his older brother often found themselves home alone to fend for themselves while both parents worked to provide for the family. Ayon shares, “My greatest life challenge was not knowing how to cope with family problems. I struggled with depression and used to cry every day.” Ayon eventually shared his problems with his mentor who suggested praying to God and reading the bible with his family. Ayon felt renewed courage and strength to face his problems and learned to rely on God to be with him through it all.

Ayon came to faith in Jesus and started attending Young Life club with his older brother. He attended Discipleship Focus Training, which was a very heart-touching training for Ayon that led to a total life change. He finally felt equipped to walk away from all his bad habits. He continued on his faith journey and got more and more involved in serving with Young Life. Ayon shares, “I want to help more people to know God and I want to grow in my own spiritual development in the process.”

Now a Developing Global Leader, Ayon is studying English at a local university hoping to improve his communication skills and open doors for employment. He would love to become a teacher and serve as a positive role model for teens in his community. Ayon is a worship leader and works with the youth in his church and is always finding a way to meet teens where they are in order to encourage them and be a listening friend.
