Argho

My name is Argho. I live in a large city in Bangladesh with my family. I have one older brother who has supported our family financially since my father died several years ago. Our uncles and aunts live around us with their families. As a child, I struggled with being too thin and having asthma so I could not play outside very much. It was a challenge for me, and I was very angry, but I got through it with the help of my family and the Lord.

I was born into a Christian family. We went to church, Sunday school and youth group. I accepted Jesus as my personal Savior during a Bible training center sermon. The verse, Romans 6:23, touched my heart because I knew I was helpless to stop sinning and I needed the gift of God, eternal life. After this, I met my Young Life leader who invited me to club where I felt loved and seen. Eventually, I became a volunteer leader. Young Life is my favorite place and as a leader, I want to create a safe place for teens to hear that they are loved.

As a recipient of the Developing Global Leaders scholarship, I am studying business management at a university in the city where I live. I will be the first person in my family to graduate from university. I want to use my degree to be a banker. I also want to open a coffee shop as a side business. As a believer, my heart is to share the Gospel with my community and continue being a strong leader for the Lord.
