Dimitrius

My name is Dimitrius, and everyone calls me Dimi. I am from a small, loving family and was raised in an agricultural community in central Bangladesh. I had a wonderful childhood filled with sorrows, fears, love, and laughs. My family is persevering through a hard time in economic matters, and my parents are doing everything to hold our family together. As a teen, the full weight of our financial problems overwhelmed me to the point of depression. I went through a difficult time where I questioned my faith, considered other gods, wrestled with fear and felt mentally drained.

In the climax of my depression, I reached out to God though reading the Bible and was met by Jesus in that dark night of the soul and He changed my life forever. I was connected with Young Life from a young age, as my father was one of the first leaders in my country before he became a pastor of a church. I grew up in Lord with Young Life and it was the foundation of my journey with the Lord, but after I renewed my faith, I got involved as a student and am now growing in my leadership skills as I lead kids and lead the worship team.

As a Developing Global Leader, I am attending a university in a large neighboring city studying business management and wish to become a banker. However, I also want to invest in raising up new leaders, who will teach about Christ to the non-Christian children. I am passionate about becoming a worship leader and love to help point people’s hearts to God through worship. I will become the first in my family to graduate from university.
