Soisob

Soisob is a resilient and friendly young man from a small tribal village in Bangladesh. The eldest of four children, Soisob reflects fondly on how influential his family has been on his life. However, many of the trials in his life have stemmed from his environment, including extreme financial hardship to the point of going without food and shoes. The persistence of such stress contributed to depression and coping through substance abuse from a young age.

Through it all, Soisob’s parents took their children to church and prayed for and blessed their children daily. As a teenager, Soisob met local Young Life leaders who pursued him and encouraged him to come to Young Life club. He shares, “I went to a training and there I came to know more about Jesus and the free gift of salvation which profoundly impacted my life.” From that point on, Soisob grew in his faith and his ministry serving kids, desiring every kid in his neighborhood to hear the Gospel.

Now a Developing Global Leader, Soisob is fulfilling a life-long dream of being the first person in his family to graduate from university. He is studying social science at a local university and desires to help address the addictions that plague his village and offer hope of another way. “My goal in life is to study well and grow in leadership skills that will help me to do God`s work later throughout my life.”
