Damien

Damien, whose name has been changed for security reasons, is a young and devoted man from a village in a Muslim country in Central Asia. He lives with his parents and three siblings. Since childhood, his father has suffered from alcoholism, which created difficult conditions for the family, who still live very modestly today. Damien first met God when he went to a children's camp in the first grade; he learned about heaven and became very worried about his father, whom he loved very much. Since then, he has prayed for his father endlessly. One of the greatest miracles of his life occurred after seven years of prayers and hopes, Damien’s father repented and became a Christ follower.

Despite attending church from an early age, Damien shares that he began to build a personal relationship with God after going to Young Life. After joining this mission, he found the Lord and now faithfully serves God, studying His word with a passion to reach local teenagers and dreams of developing in this area. Daniel shares, “I have faced many obstacles in my life, but thanks to them I am who I am today. I hope to help teens know they are not alone in the struggles they face and be someone they can lean on.”

As a student of the Developing Global Leaders program, Damien is studying environmental protection and process safety at a local university He is interested in this growing field and sees this as an opportunity for development in his country, as well as a great opportunity for evangelism.
