Ganerdene

My name is Ganerdene, and I live in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia with my mother, stepfather and his two daughters. When I was nine my parents broke up because of my father's abuse of alcohol. After the divorce my mother married my stepfather, and we became a blended family. It was very hard for me; I couldn't adapt to them, and I always felt that I lived with strangers. The only thing I knew to do was isolate myself from them, which left me feeling distant from my mother as well.

When I was in high school, my friends went to Young Life club and they invited me to come. In 2020, Young Life organized an online camp and after that I attended Campaigners where we had discussions about faith in Jesus and prayer. After one of our meetings, I prayed to God and felt immediate tranquility, as if God took away all the stones from my heart; I decided to open my heart's door to Him.

Now a Developing Global Leader, I am majoring in psychology at Otgontenger University. I really love sports but I didn't have the chance for a career as an athlete. However, I couldn’t leave sports behind. I want to become one of the best sport's psychologists in Mongolia. There are too many athletes unable to reach their full potential because of their mental health and I want to help them. While in DGL program, my greatest purpose is to tell teenagers about God and show His love to them.
