Starling

My name is Starling and I am from Bonao, Dominican Republic. My childhood was something beautiful, I had many friends who marked my life and I thank God they are still a part of my life. There have also been many difficult years as I helped care for my father during his illness before he died. I learned to depend on God for everything, even to provide for the expensive medicines necessary for my father’s care. I came to understand that God is good and has dominion and control over all things. I am thankful for my loving mother and my family who support me so well.

Since childhood, I was taught about the person of Jesus, but I did not understand much of it since I was a child. During my adolescence, I began to know Him and His love for me. I went to Young Life camp where I truly started my relationship with Jesus and that camp experience awakened a deeper passion in me for God and the Young Life ministry. I am determined to give the best of myself to the Young Life ministry and hope to be able to bring the word of God in a genuine way to home corner of my area.

As a Developing Global Leader, my vision is to earn a degree in modern languages. I would like to use these skills to reach all the people who live in my corner of the world. I enjoy English, Japanese and the Portuguese language most and I want to continue to use my understanding of culture and language to reach more people with the message of Jesus. I enjoy photography and would like to eventually open a studio while never ceasing to share about the love of God.
