Dyno

My name is Dyno. I grew up with my father and step-mother, her son and a cousin in a populated coastal commune in Haiti. My home is unfinished and primitive, and my father was absent a lot. He didn’t know much about me and knew very little about what was going on at home. I was small but self-reliant, I made my lunches and studied my lessons, always completing my homework. Nobody believed there was hope to go to college, but every day I multiplied my efforts and God gave me the strength to finish high school.

I became a Christian at a Young Life camp in Haiti. Before I accepted Christ, I was resentful and could not forgive. Life after my conversion was a rather painful experience as I reflected on the state in which I found myself. I had many regrets about how I lived in the world far from the will of Christ. Over time I was able to forgive myself and accept that God's grace had already erased my guilt. Now I am a leader and walk with teens like myself, sharing the good news of love and grace and the hope found in life with God.

As a Developing Global Leader, I want to be the first in my family to graduate from university. I am studying business administration and economics at Notre Dame University. I would like to become known in my field by my strong leadership skills and contribute to the process of further economic development of my country. I believe that the understanding of administration will help me to further the mission of Christ in my church and in Young Life as well as in my career. I will be the first in my family to graduate from university.
