Emiliano Mixali

Hello there, my name is Emi or as my friends call me, "Tofas". I grew up in San Miguel De Allende, Mexico and my family consists of my mom, dad, my sister, and I. My mom and dad have been divorced for five years and my sister has started a family abroad. My childhood was not the prettiest. I lived in a segregated household between a believer and a non-believer which created for me a sense of discomfort in my own home and made it difficult to have any type of real relationship with my parents. I felt robbed of a "normal" family experience because of all the fights and quarrels that went on in my home.

Because of the emotional damage that I suffered through elementary school, my mother decided to move me to a new school, which turned out to be a Christian school. In this school, Christian values were shared with the students, and by the age of thirteen, I remember being touched and amazed by the promises God had in store for me as I decided to follow Him. From that moment forward there was no second-guessing myself and my life has been truly transformed by this crucial decision. I've created healthy relationships with both of my parents and have made many friends. In my second year of high school, I stumbled upon Young Life, in which I've found community and love being a leader. Expressing love outwardly to other young people is something that has impacted my heart and compelled me to be of service to Him and has allowed me to experience His power through me.

Now, as a Developing Global Leader, I attend Universidad de las Américas in Puebla, Mexico, where I aspire to become a Software Engineer and maybe one day, a professor. I envision being a man of God as I go through school, so that my classmates can see His love through me in the way I live my life. I'm all in when it comes to Young Life, wherever I'm needed for our dreams and vision to come to fruition I'll be there!
