Alex Dario

Alex is a gentleman, characterized by being a person who is not afraid to take new risks, coming from Quito, capital of Ecuador, and the oldest capital of South America. His childhood was very difficult because he witnessed his parents in conflicts and fights, they did not understand each other at all. Seeing his parents' problems and living life far away from God was formative to the person he is today. He shares that he has a better understanding of teenagers and the trials they experience on a daily basis because of the challenges he faced during that time of his life.

Alex first became aware of God’s presence in his life when he saw his parents, while on the verge of death, choose to follow after God. At that time, he was surrounded by bad company that influenced him to follow a negative path. Shortly after, he heard the gospel and came to faith while attending church with his mother. Later, he connected with Young Life through a friend who told him about the ministry and took him to camp. "Seeing so many kids accept Jesus made me passionate about the need for Jesus in a teenager's life." This time at camp changed the trajectory of his life. Now his purpose is to serve and love the teenagers in his community.

As a physics and math teacher his vision is to become the best in his profession and use his platform as a teacher to have a great impact on society, helping teenagers strive to be better in life. Alex wants to make the most of the Developing Global Leader's scholarship and pursue his teaching career with excellence for the Lord.
